How does a weary world rejoice? Acknowledging Our Weariness
In the beautiful carol "O Holy Night" we sing "A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices." The complicated and beautiful reality is that weariness and sadness can coexist with joy. We don't have to suppress one emotion to have the other. Our joy is rooted in the fact that we belong to God, so we can acknowledge the weariness of our world while celebrating God's closeness with great joy.
